Ling Yan- Cello
Ling Yan, Concert cellist: she began her cello studies at the age of 6 and pursued her studies at the Tianjing Conservatory and the Central Conservatory in Beijing. She was first-prize winner in All-China Music Institute Cello Competition in 1985. She migrated to United States in 1986 and won first prize in the La Jolla Young Artist Competition. Ms. Yan, earned her BA and Masters in music at Boston University as a student of renowned Leslie Pamas. She also participated in: Brandies University Summer Music Festival, Boulder Bach Festival and Colorado Music Festival. Ms. Yan, has performed solo recitals throughout US, such as: Center for British Art Yale University, Bruno Walter Auditorium, Lincoln Center, NY, University of Colorado, Boston University and Donald Wright Auditorium-Harbeson Hall, Pasadena, California. Also in China Central Conservatory Of Music, Beijing. She also performed as a soloist with Tianjin Symphony Orchestra, China, La Jolla Civic Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Yan, has served as principal cellist of Boulder Philharmonic, the Four Seasons Chamber Orchestra and Colorado Ballet Orchestra. She has held positions with: Denver Chamber Orchestra, Opus Chamber Orchestra, Long Beach Symphony and Pacific Symphony. She also performed in the following concert series , Peace Through music from 2010- present , Mid Summer Night, 2011-present, Unity concert, 9/2022. Ms. Yan, as a teacher, continues to share her outstanding musical artistry with young musicians.
