Karine Ohanyan, piano
ABOUT
Karine Ohanyan was born in 1952 in Yerevan. She studied at the Sayat-Nova Music School. In 1976, she graduated from the Moscow Conservatory and then continued her studies in postgraduate school in the class of Professor Lev Vlassenko.
Since 1978, she has been teaching at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan and at the Tchaikovsky Secondary Music School. She has given solo concerts in many cities of the former USSR, as well as in France, Italy, the United States, Canada, and Brazil, and has performed with orchestras.
Ohanyan’s performing style is distinguished by rich timbral qualities and an aesthetically distinctive interpretation. She has recorded several albums.
